“At Christmas, God is concrete: in his name let us help a little hope to be born anew in those who feel hopeless!”
-Pope Francis

Education has always been at the heart of what we do at JRS. Its power to transform lives, and bring dignity and hope to people inspires us every day.

Since 2021, thanks to the generosity of countless people who contributed time, energy and money, we were able to expand and improve our education programme. We also laid the foundations of a holistic youth service focused on helping young refugees fulfil their potential through education.

This Christmas, we want to thank you for your support, which has made a difference in the lives of so many young people.

We invite you to walk alongside us in our mission to bring hope to young people, as they strive to live life to the full.

Our work is only possible with the help of people like you who share our vision. Any donation, large or small, will help us to continue walking with young refugees and give them hope for a better future.

JRS Malta Youth Services

Information provision

JRS operates a weekly youth information service and outreach programme, with the aim of providing information, assistance and support to young people navigating their lives in Malta.

Education and mentoring

Young people can access anything from basic education programmes, like language, literacy or other classes, to an individualised education programme. This provides individuals with the opportunity to choose their own education path, and the support to complete it.

Community

We organise regular recreational and cultural activities for refugee youth, aimed at countering loneliness and isolation, and building friendships. In collaboration with the Jesuits in Malta, through Dar Pedro Arrupe in Zejtun, we support five young refugees who are studying full-time to cope with the demands of daily life and full-time education.

Thank you for journeying alongside us as we continue to accompany, serve and defend refugees in Malta.

Wishing you a blessed Christmas season and a peaceful new year.
