JRS Europe, with the participation of JRS in Malta and other countries across the continent, have recently launched CHANGE, an educational program that connects students, teachers, and refugees. The idea behind Change is to learn and share experiences which foster critical thinking, empathy and participation to make a real change in local communities.
The programme promotes spaces of dialogue in which migrants and refugees can share their life experiences, hopes and dreams for the future with students. Whether they take place online or face-to-face, these encounters provide the opportunity to foster understanding and make meaningful connections.
The project was initiated through various initiatives such as a homework club, assisting people with writing CVs, preparing bus card applications or participating in a language café. Although small, these actions make a big difference.
