At JRS we do our best to provide clients with a professional service focused on supporting clients’ needs. We do our utmost to help clients feel respected and supported, as we meet their needs. If however there has been a situation where you have felt unsafe as a result of the behaviour of our staff or have experienced any form of misconduct or harassment from a member of the JRS staff, we invite you to inform us. We take these situations very seriously and will deal with this complaint/report in a confidential and prompt way.

How can you inform us?

You can inform us by:

  1. Notifying a JRS staff member in-person
  2. Submitting a complaint in writing and depositing it in the complaint box at the JRS reception area. You can find complaint forms at the JRS reception area.
  3. Submitting a complaint online via email sent to complaints@jrsmalta.org

Please provide as much information as possible about the situation you wish to bring to our attention so that we can look into it and deal with it in the best way possible. Providing your name and contact number will allow us to deal with the complaint more effectively. It is, however, possible to submit a complaint anonymously.

What happens once I submit a complaint?

Your complaint will be received by the JRS complaints officer, who will acknowledge that they have received it, record it confidentially and make sure that it is investigated. You might be called for a meeting to provide further information, and you will always be informed of the outcome of any decisions that are taken regarding your complaint.

Safeguarding your rights as a client

  • We will ensure that such a complaint/report will in no way negatively impact the work we do with you.
  • The complaint, depending on the nature of it, will be investigated internally by the JRS complaints officer and/or other members of staff or externally, by independent professionals specifically contracted for the purpose.
  • We will do our best to provide you with the help you might need as a result of your negative experience
  • We will work to deal with your complaint as quickly and sensitively as possible
  • We will handle your complaint privately, but we cannot guarantee complete confidentiality if your complaint indicates the risk of harm to yourself or to someone else
